WWI "Fly-In" at the USAF Museum

On Saturday I had the opportunity to spend the day at the USAF Museum shooting the WWI fly-in. They planes didn’t do much other than just fly by. I guess after being at the Dayton Air Show, I was sort of expecting a little more. We still had a great time and got a few good shots.

Jeremy flying high in the studio!

I had a shoot Monday morning and then I was going to take my son Jeremy to the skate park. Since he was there with his board, I thought it would be fun to shoot some action in the studio. These were shot with four lights. Two on the background and two on Jeremy. I was really happy with the results. In fact, the editor from Popular Photography magazine has asked if I would be willing to write an article on how to set up something like this. Hopefully they will want to go forward with it. Erica in the Studio

I spent an evening in the studio with my daughter Erica. Even though she is not a senior, we were just messing around with some senior "looks" and trying to get some ideas for her shoot this spring.

I woke up early this morning and decided to get the camera out and shoot the total lunar eclipse. Click on any image to see a larger view.

OBX Pier

Spent the last couple of mornings shooting the pier in the Outer Banks. The lighting hasn't been the greatest and there haven't been any traditional sunrises, but sometimes you just take what you can get.

Surfers at the Rodanthe Pier

Got up this morning to the huge waves in the OBX. The hurricane down in the gulf has created some fairly big surf here on the East coast. The big waves brought out a bunch of surfers.

Jeremy @ Maple Skatepark

Took my son to the Maple Skatepark in Currituck, NC for a bit of skating. It was his first time in a "bowl" type skatepark. Seemed a little hesitant at first, but after a couple of bumps and bruises, he really took off.

Superbikes

No question that the superbikes are my favorite racing subject. I think having a rider rather than a driver add a human element to the images and makes them more interesting. These were shot at MidOhio this weekend.

Flying Bikes

I went to MidOhio with Terry, Lynn and Ken to shoot the AMA Superbikes, but read that the motocross was racing this weekend as well, so I took a break and walked over to the dirt track to shoot some dirt action. First time shooting this type of racing, so still learning!

Dayton Airshow 2007

Went to the Dayton Air show with my friends Terry and Lynn. Weather wise, it was a pretty crappy day. Low clouds, white sky, not much light, but we still managed to have a good time. Unfortunately there was a fatal crash on Saturday afternoon. Kind of strange when you see something like that happen right in front of you. The pilot was Jim LeRoy. The first picture is of Jim earlier in the day in the BullDog. Click on any image to see it larger.

IRL Weekend at MidOhio

Spent the weekend at MidOhio with Jeff, Harry and Tony. Jeff was nice enough to take his camper along. Made for a nice relaxing weekend! Click on the image to see the fullsize.
